December 14, 2020 - La Mirada, CA

VOICE CADDIE Brand Ambassador, A Lim Kim, shot a final-round 4-under 67 to capture the 2020 U.S. Women’s Open at Champions Golf Club in Houston, Texas.

With temperatures in the 40s and a wind chill in the 30s, Kim entered Monday’s weather-delayed final round five-shots behind leader Hinako Shibuno. Kim would go on to close with three straight birdies to finish one stroke clear of world No. 1, Jin Young Ko and Amy Olson by one stroke.

"Still can't really soak in that I'm the champion," said Kim. "I've been eyeing the leaderboard throughout the round and I knew how many shots I was back," she said through a translator. "That's probably the reason why I tried to hit more aggressively, tried to attack the pins.”  It was A Lim Kim’s major debut in the US.  Kim expressed her gratitude to Voice Caddie for being a tremendous help in adapting to the unfamiliar course and preparing strategies.

En route to her victory in her first-ever start in the United States and her first major, A Lim Kim shot rounds of 68 (-3), 74 (+3), 72 (+1), and 67 (-4) for a total score of 3-under par 281. Kim’s U.S. Women’s Open victory moved her Rolex World Ranking up 64 spots from 94th to 30th.

In a year filled with health and safety concerns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, fittingly A Lim Kim was victorious at the 2020 U.S. Women’s Open wearing a mask during all four rounds.
